Vintage Diamond No. 7 Streamlined Self-Heating Kerosene Iron manufactured by The Akron Lamp & Mfg. Co., Akron, Ohio. Circa late 1930s.
Excellent collector’s group including the original Diamond self-heating iron along with its original shipping carton and an unusually nice assortment of original paperwork and ephemera.
Included are the large “Directions for Operating New Diamond Streamlined Iron” instruction sheet, order forms, parts information and additional Akron Lamp literature shown in the photographs. Original carton retains its period C.O.D. shipping label addressed to New Augusta, Indiana.
Iron has an attractive chrome finish with dark handle and retains its original Diamond Self-Heating Iron identification plate. Patent number 2,065,492 appears on the iron.
All pieces show age-appropriate wear, staining, folds, tears and deterioration, particularly the original cardboard box and paper materials. Iron has surface wear consistent with age and use. Untested and sold as a collectible/display item only. Please review photographs carefully for condition and exact contents.
