Antique Hardcover Copy: "Dyke's Automobile and Gasoline Engine Encyclopedia" — Thirteenth Edition (1923 Printing).

Up for sale is a legendary piece of early automotive history. This massive, comprehensive reference guide is considered the definitive authority on pre-war and brass-era vehicles. Spanning over 1,200 pages, it is profusely illustrated with detailed schematics, assembly diagrams, and troubleshooting charts covering early automotive construction, operation, electrical systems, carburetors, and engine repairs for vintage cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles. An indispensable treasure for antique car collectors, restoration mechanics, or transportation history enthusiasts.

Product Details:

• Publisher: The Goodheart-Willcox Company, Inc. (Chicago)

• Edition/Year: 13th Edition, Stated 1923

• Cover: Vibrant blue cloth boards with crisp silver-white embossed lettering on the front cover and spine.

Provenance & Condition Notes:

Good antique condition overall. The outer blue cloth cover boards remain exceptionally bright and clean with crisp silver lettering. The pages are clean, crisp, and fully legible throughout.

Please note the following vintage wear characteristics:

1. The inner front paper hinge is split/torn along the gutter edge (as shown in the title page photo), though the structural mesh under-binding remains attached.

2. The front blank flyleaf page features a vintage personal name label belonging to an early owner ("Lawrence S. Griffin, Everett, Wash.") alongside old pencil notations in the top right corner. Normal light edge rubbing and minor shelf wear consistent with a 100+ year-old garage reference manual. Please review all high-resolution photos closely for exact cosmetic details.

Shipping:

Ships safely wrapped in heavy bubble wrap and packed inside a rigid box to fully protect the spine and vintage corners. Mailed via USPS Media Mail at a 4-pound weight class with tracking included.
