Charming Pair of Antique/Vintage 1920s Pressed Wood Composite Bookends
This beautiful set captures a nostalgic scene of a young boy in knickers comfortably lounging on a tufted sofa couch while completely engrossed in a book titled \"Boys Own\". Fast asleep underneath his legs on the floorboards sits his loyal companion dog.
Crafted out of a heavy composite pressed wood material popular in the early 20th century, these feature incredibly detailed textured lines mimicking hand-carved wood grain aesthetics.
β’ Condition Notes: Please see the condition box and photos. One bookend suffers from deep structural cracks running through the couch back and boy\'s head, requiring a careful epoxy repair or stabilization by the buyer. The matching bookend has a chip out of the bottom trim finish. They still present beautifully forward-facing but are sold strictly AS-IS for restoration, rustic display, or repair.
Perfect addition to an antique library collection, childrenβs book shelf, or as a cozy decorative restoration piece.
