Vintage 1920s Antique "Barney Google" Clear Pressed Glass Candy Container
Up for sale is a rare, authentic 1920s antique pressed glass candy container shaped like the classic comic strip character Barney Google (created by Billy DeBeck). This novelty figurine depicts Barney in his signature top hat and oversized coat, holding a small bowling ball or prize globe out in front of him.
The front of the circular glass pedestal base features bold, crisp embossed lettering that reads: "BARNEY GOOGLE". It comes complete with its original screw-on metal base plate closure, which still retains a good amount of its original bright orange/red painted finish on the exterior.
These containers were originally filled with small pellet candies or "hundreds and thousands" and sold at five-and-dime stores as a crossover treat and toy.
⚠️ Condition & Buyer Note (Sold As-Is):

• Glass Condition: The clear glass body is structurally solid with no major cracks or heavy chips. It shows standard period manufacturing traits like tiny air bubbles enclosed in the glass and minor rough edges along the bottom base threads.
• Metal Lid Condition: The original metal lid shows a charming vintage patina, including surface scratches, localized paint loss/flaking on the red side, and oxidization/darkening on the unpainted interior side.
