This “Buy it Now” offering is for fourvintage clay poker chips with an inlaid design known to collectors as Sunburst (PW-SX)in four different colors: red, white, green and lavender. This historic pokerchip design appeared as early as 1906 in the U.S. Playing Card Co. (Cincinnati)catalog of gambling supplies and these chips are great examples of clay chipsfrom the late 1800s and early 1900s. Clay chips began replacing ivory chipsbeginning in the 1880s and inlaid chips like these were introduced in the 1890swith manufacturers creating dozens of designs through the early 1900sforgambling houses to prevent players from bringing in their own identical chipsrather than “buying in.” The diverse and graphic designs make them popular withcollectors today. These chips would make a great addition to any poker chip orgame collection or as a gift for the poker enthusiast.

These are standard size 1.5-inch diameterchips.

Condition: Thesechips are in excellent collector-quality condition and although they aresusceptible to dings from use, I only see light edge wear in this grouping.Group photos show both sides of the chips for your assessment of condition. Youreceive the actual items in the photos.
