Up for sale is a lot of 2 original late 19th-century Photochrom color prints depicting ethnographic scenes from the Holy Land / Levant region.
Print 1 (Druze Feast): Titled in gold text lower left "15131. P. Z. - PAYSANS DRUSES DU MONT CARMEL PRENANT LEUR REPAS". Features a group of Druze men gathered for a meal on Mount Carmel.
Print 2 (Bedouin Group): Depicts four men in traditional robes and keffiyehs seated near a stone wall.
Backing: Both prints feature the authentic purple hand-stamp "PHOTOCHROM" on the reverse side.
Condition Details:
Print 1 (Druze): Shows noticeable wear, including edge chips/tears along the bottom and side borders, a top left corner crease/tear, and tape repair on the upper right back corner.
Print 2 (Bedouin): Fair to good vintage condition with light creasing, soft corners, and mild edge handling wear. Colors remain rich and vibrant on both prints.
