Up for sale is a beautiful, large vintage Chinese blue and white porcelain deep charger plate or serving basin. This substantial piece features a classic, highly detailed Chinoiserie pastoral landscape scene complete with a traditional mountain skyline, birds, ancient pine trees, figures gathered around a tabletop, a traveler on horseback, and a fisherman casting lines from a river boat.
The underside base is stamped with an underglaze cobalt blue six-character Qianlong period apocryphal seal mark written in archaic Zhuanshu script.
Measurements:
• Width: Approx. 13 inches in diameter
• Depth: Approx. 2.5 inches deep
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no modern chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or repairs. The white glaze finish remains bright, and the cobalt blue imagery is crisp and distinct. As is common with vintage transfer and export wares, minor manufacturing characteristics such as natural pinholes/pitting in the glaze and raw texturing along the unglazed foot rim are present. Please see all uploaded photos showing exact dimensional measurements and a clear profile view of the basin\'s deep curve.
