Vintage 100 Year Old August Buermann Star Steel Silver Half Breed Bit For Sale

Collectible Vintage Star Steel Silver Half Breed bit handmade by August Buermann Manufacturing Company of Newark, New Jersey. Known for its durability and rust resistance, this proprietary metal blend became a staple of the American Cowboy from the late 19th century through the early 20th century. The company was acquired in 1926 by North & Judd who then authentically marked their bits with a plain STAR after the words Star Steel Silver.

This particular bit has the 5 inch half breed mouthpiece with 7 - 1/2” Cavalry style shanks. The bit is in very good condition with the usual nicks and scrapes expected to see on a 100 YEAR OLD BIT!
