Vintage 10\" Petalware Monax Decorated Cake Plate/Salver Plate w/Metal Handle For Sale

This vintage 10\" Petalware Monax salver plate/cake plate is in very good condition. Clean. No chips. No cracks. No nicks. Decoration is nice. Black handle\'s paint is not perfect, but vinyl wrapped grip is. Depression glass made by MacBeth-Evans, 1930-1950. Monax was their white, milk glass dinnerware and appeared in the 1940\'s. This plate is known as 10\" salver plate but actually measures 10 3/4\" in diameter. Sold in both a ringed and plain bottom. This plate has the ringed bottom and is shown well in pictures. MacBeth-Evans made several decorated Monax pieces and patterns, but this piece may have been decorated and the handle added by another company that purchased the plates from MacBeth-Evans. Decoration is black on white. Appears to be a fruit tree in early bloom. Handle is black painted steel with a vinyl wrapped grip. Care has been taken and should be taken in removing and installing handle. One clip at a time and if any difficulty in putting on other side, you should switch which side you put on first. Also, hold clip until it makes contact with plate and not let it snap. Finally, this is an eye-catcher. Quite lovely. Obviously vintage and unusual. A little hard to part with.
