US Army M1 steel helmet with Vietnam war era helmet cover and a 1960s GI liner.
The Liner webbing is in good condition. The sweatband is a respectable reproduction, and nape strap is Vietnam War era US GI.
Includes a GI elastic helmet camo band and has been repaired (see pictures).
Camo cover has honestly earned wear, and a good amount of sun fading, dirt, and a few holes near the helmet rim. Cover has a contract number that dates it to the 1960s. I go to great lengths to fit the original, field used camo cover as close as possible to the same way that the GI did, based on rim wear patterns.
Also includes a vintage GI can opener, plus matches, coffee, creamer, and sugar from a post war MCI accessory packet. Includes a vintage 60s Schlitz Beer church key can opener. Has an original 1960s “We Try Harder” Avis Car Rental button, a popular item of many GIs in Vietnam. Has an empty 1960s Kool-Aid packet. Comes with an original vintage, empty green plastic US GI bottle with cap and printing.
This is a great looking helmet with a genuine been-there-done-that appearance.
Shipped USPS ground advantage.
