Authentic antique oil lamp featuring a hand-painted milk glass globe with rose floral decoration, paired with a solid brass-toned metal font and base. This lamp remains in its original oil configuration and has not been converted to electric.
Condition is good antique condition overall with age-appropriate wear. Please note that the oil font does leak slightly, consistent with age-related metal fatigue at the seam. Because of this, the lamp is best suited for display or restoration rather than active oil use. The glass globe is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips observed, only minor flea bites to the trim of the glass. The floral decoration remains vibrant and intact. Clear glass chimney is present and fits properly.
The floral roses may appear inverted when viewed straight-on; this is a known characteristic of certain antique hand-painted globes, which were decorated to be viewed from above or seated eye level. The globe is correctly oriented and cannot be installed upside down.
Constructed with a weighted brass base, original burner assembly, satin milk glass globe, and clear chimney. A tall and elegant example that displays beautifully even when unlit.
Approximate dimensions:
• Overall height: approx. 23 inches to top of chimney
• Globe: round milk glass with hand-painted roses
Estimated production period: late 1800s to early 1900s.
Ideal for antique lighting collectors, Victorian décor, farmhouse or cottage interiors, or as a decorative statement piece. Sold as-is due to the oil leak, which is fully disclosed and reflected in pricing.
