A very heavy cast iron figure of the Manchester man with black patina that is from around third quarter of the 19th Century. The iron casting of a Victorian figure with a tricorn hat and round pot belly, standing on a square pedestal. He wears boots, a jacket with lapels and has buttons down the front of his shirt and a book under one arm. He is a jovial fellow and shows it by his round face and big smile.The figure has no hallmarks or labels. MEASUREMENTS5 ½ in (14.0 cm) tall x 3 in (7.6 cm) wide x 2 in (5.1 cm) deep. Weighs 2 lbs 8.8 oz. CONDITIONThere are no dents, cracks, breaks, or repairs. There is wear to the black patina, especially on the base. There is no felt on the base. A very heavy antique figure of an Englishman from the late Victorian period that will add personality to a room.
