Very Rare WW1 German Cavalry Matched- Set Leather Saddlebags Wehrmacht Issued For Sale

Authentic matched pair of very rare WW1 era German cavalry saddlebags identified as item #31 from the collection.

• Item Type: WW1 German Cavalry Saddlebags (reissued WW2)
• Material: High quality brown leather with deep brown patina
• Construction: Right-side bag with external horseshoe pouch; Left-side rider bag
• Features: Saddle-fixing-apparatus similar to Packtaschen 34
• Age: Approximately 100 years old

Historically, these earlier WW1 bags were also reportedly reissued for use by motorcycle troops "Kradschutzen" during the Second World War. These high quality brown leather bags proved very useful for Cavalry Reconnaissance as well as for Mobile Motorcycle units because of their durability and adaptability.

This set includes a left-side rider's bag with a similar saddle-fixing-apparatus as the later (more well known) WW2 type issued by the Wehrmacht around 1934 called "Packtaschen 34". The leather retains a deep brown patina. (See condition statement.)
