Veracruz amethyst crystal specimen.
This specimen is 2.25x1.25x1.25 inches and weighs 26.2g. It is a lovely example of the unique, "flower-like" formation and exceptional clarity this type of amethyst is known for and it is what makes Veracruz amethyst highly sought after by mineral collectors.
Veracruz amethyst is a highly prized variety of quartz that is sourced exclusively from the volcanic regions of Veracruz Mexico (specifically Las Vigas), typically found within small, narrow cavities in volcanic vesicular andesite. This amethyst is known for its slender, elongated, and highly transparent, light-lavender to deep-purple crystals. These crystals are distinct for their delicate, often doubly-terminated, and laser-like shapes found in volcanic host rock
NOTE PLEASE: I am not a mineral/crystal dealer or shop. I am a person who started collecting mineral specimens years ago. I am downsizing. It is going to take me a looooooong time to list each specimen so if you don’t see what you are looking for on this post, check back, I may post just what you need.
