Very rare University of Nebraska Alumnus magazine with a centerfold featuring the historic 1959 Huskers upset game against Oklahoma Tinglehoff. Included in the centerfold are several standout athletes who went on to majorcollege and professional careers. Pictured with coach Jennings is future ProFootball Hall of Famer Mick Tingelhoff, who later became a six‑time All‑Procenter with the Minnesota Vikings, as well as game photos of Harry Tolly, DickMcDaniel and Ron Meade, and includes a mention of Pat Fischer, a three‑time NFLPro Bowl defensive back.
We also have listed the very scarce original 1959 program for the game, in which the unranked Cornhuskers defeated the No. 19-ranked Oklahoma Sooners 25-21 in a historic upset considered one of the greatest moments in Nebraska Cornhuskers history. It snapped Oklahoma's staggering 74-game unbeaten streak in conference play and marked their first loss to Nebraska since 1942, giving head coach Bud Wilkinson the first MVIAA defeat of his 13-year tenure.
