VTG Signed Woven Wood Splint Gathering Basket Bentwood Handle Garden Farmhouse For Sale

Incredible large handmade splint oak gathering basket. Tray shaped with bent wood handle. Intricate weaving and braided rim. Signed on the bottom, “Jean Whetzel 1/04” from what I can make out but please note that hasn’t been verified. From research, there was a Jean Whetzel basket maker in the Northern Virginia area (which this basket was found), which would correspond with the presumed signature. The basket is in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. No breaks, tears, or other major defects or damage. The basket measures:
28.25” long
15.25” wide
3” tall edge of tray
8” tall with handle included See photos for details and ask questions before purchase as I don’t accept returns. Please note, this is a large basket so shipping cost will be higher.
