This set of Esterbrook Transitional Fountain Pen and matching Mechanical Pencil where produced between 1944-1948. The bodies are celluloid in a Mackerel or Silver/Gray Pearl, both have flat-bottom barrels. The fountain pin has a stainless steel 2668 Nib (which is considered Firm/Medium. Both have the name Philip engraved in side (very small). The mechanical pencil still has lead in it. Both have silver trim.
These have been lightly used and probably could use a good cleaning. How rare is it to have the matching pair still?
This is coming out of an estate of a 98-year-old who collected pens (amongst MANY other things). I have so many beautiful fountain pens, regular pens and mechanical pencils from this house that it will take me a few days to do all the listings, so please check back often,
