RARE!
Highly collectible, exceedingly rare three-piece set of vintage dinner plates from the renowned Santa Barbara Ceramic Design studio of California. Known primarily for their bright floral or cottagecore dinnerware patterns, this specific set represents a beautifully minimalist, modernist departure featuring rustic Southwestern primitive creature motifs.
Each measures 11" in diameter and 1 5/8" high.
Made in California,
Each plate is crafted from a heavy, earthy speckled stoneware clay body. They feature a clean, creamy oatmeal-colored glaze inside that lets the natural iron flecks peek through, completed by a distinct, raw wiped brown clay rim. The undersides are fully glazed in the same speckled tone and feature the hand-signed script "Santa Barbara."
ALMOST EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION: No chips, cracks, structural repairs or visible utensil marks EXCEPT that each plate has one minor nick--please see the last three pictures above the quarter.
