VTG RETRO MCM TRAY Conversation Starter Wood Boomerang Design Lacquer 14x18:
$45.00
I have never seen anything like this tray. A trye conversation starter!. It is obviously vintage and appears to be from the 1950s to early 1960s because of the geometric and boomerang design on the tray. The images don’t lay on the top of the tray surface; they are underneath an epoxy resin creating a laquered finish. The frame of the tray is wood but the flat surface seems to be some kind of metal—you can hear the metal when you rap on it. The metal is epoxied to a high gloss.
It is an excellent shape!
This is definitely a collectible item and I really have no idea how much it is worth!
An artist recently told me that this tray might be very valuable and made by a reputable artist in the mid 20th century. The boomerang design combined with the reverse imaging and the materials make this a very rare piece.
