Great pair of 1984 vintage Arizona passenger license plates featuring the embossed white alphanumeric sequence BSK 894 white lettering over a maroon background
So why was 1984 a good year in Arizona?
The Arizona "Marron Base" license plate tells a very cool story of the Southwest design. Introduced in 1980, this was the very first plate in Arizona history to feature the embossed saguaro cactus emblem to separate the letters and numbers. Before this design Arizona used plain dashes or dots. The layout became so popular that it set the standard for Arizona's identity eventually evolving into the famous graphic desert sunset plates we see today.
