Vintage and scarce folding knifehandcraftedin the village ofLaguiole,FrancebythefrenchLe Fidèle cutlery from the 1980's.Every knife of theirshas been crafted with pride by a single master cutler,ensuring that each masterpiece is unique to its craftsman's work ethic!Laguiole pattern knives are the most famous of the French regional style knives originatingin theearly / mid 19th century with the current footprint being established in the 1860'sas a blend of localstraight bladed 'laguiole droit' and the Spanish navaja folderswhichthestory goes were introduced to the region from seasonally migrating Frenchshepherdswho brought them backfrom Spain after the winter months.There are plenty of stories told about the bee or mouche (fly) design onthe backspring as well as the cross shaped pins on the handle.Polished blade made of high quality400stainless steel.Handle made ofbrasslinings and bolsters withiridescent buffalo horn scales with brass rivets.Forged spring decorated by serial guilloche with thetraditional honeybee.Nail nick opening.Slipjoint blade system.
