Pair of vintage Italian candle wall sconces featuring dramatic black-painted metal construction, sculptural hanging rings, fluted candle cups, and decorative floral and hand-worked-style details. Their bold silhouette has a wonderful Mediterranean / Spanish Revival / Old World look that makes a striking statement on the wall.
The sconces are constructed of strongly magnetic metal, likely iron or steel, with a black painted finish. One is stamped “ITALY,” while the matching sconce has a partially visible “MADE IN…” mark with the remainder no longer legible.
Each sconce is designed to hold a standard taper candle in the center socket. Small pillar candles are shown in some photos for styling and scale only; they rest on top of the taper sockets and are not securely held in place, so taper candles are recommended for use.
Vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. There is paint/finish loss exposing the silver-gray metal beneath, including more noticeable loss around one of the decorative floral elements. There are additional scratches, scuffs, surface wear, and remnants of old candle wax within the holders. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.
These are wonderfully dramatic vintage sconces, perfect for Mediterranean, Spanish Revival, Gothic-inspired, eclectic, or Old World interiors.
