VTG ✨Hazel Atlas Clear Glass Jar #5747 Paneled Food Canister Metal Lid HA For Sale

Up for sale is a beautiful piece of authentic mid-century American kitchen history. This six paneled uniquely shaped clear glass commercial product jar features a unique elegant design, manufactured by the iconic Hazel-Atlas Glass Company. Originally used to package grocery staples like shortening, coffee, or peanut butter, these durable jars were specifically designed to be washed out and reused as pantry canisters or refrigerator jars by homemakers. The jar features a slightly concave base for stability and distinct wavy \"washboard\" machine markings in the glass, characteristic of automated production lines from this era. It retains its original vintage metal screw-on lid.Condition Details:Glass: Excellent vintage condition. Clear glass with no chips, cracks, or flea bites. Faint, expected surface shelf wear on the bottom consistent with age. I didn’t notice the white dust bits until after I looked at the photos, but it seems they are from the paper towels I used after its bath? There are seed air bubbles as well. Lid: Included with normal signs of age/vintage patina (minor surface discoloration/wear). Snap top, snaps on and off, replacement lids can be easily found online. This is the lid I found on it in my Great Grandmas collection but last photo shows a modern day Mason jar plastic lid fits perfectly!
