VTG Chinese Shiwan Pottery Drinking Figures Set of 4 Guang Dong Ceramics Company
Unusual and highly detailed vintage set of four small Chinese ceramic pottery figures, each approximately 2 to 2.5".
The figures appear to depict traditional Chinese characters enjoying drinks. Each figure has a different pose and expression, with small cups and drinking vessels incorporated into the figures. One appears to be raising his cup in a toast, while another appears to be reclining or sleeping after drinking.
The figures have wonderful hand finished details including facial features, beards, clothing, hats and small accessories. The earthy brown and tan pottery has the distinctive character of Shiwan style figural ceramics.

4 ceramic figural pieces
4 individual original presentation boxes
1 larger original outer box designed to hold all four smaller boxes
The individual boxes are printed GUANG DONG Ceramics Company and the four smaller boxes fit together inside the larger outer box.
Figures appear to be in very good vintage condition with no obvious major damage noted. Please examine all photos carefully for condition and details. The pottery has natural variations and surface characteristics consistent with its age and handmade construction.
The boxes are also in good vintage condition overall, with some expected age related wear, discoloration and wear to the printed paper covering. The larger outer box has some edge wear.
I have not attempted to clean or alter the figures.
Likely mid to late 20th century, although the exact date is unknown.
A particularly interesting complete boxed group for collectors of Chinese pottery, Shiwan ceramics, figural ceramics or vintage Asian collectibles.
