Charming set of three vintage Boyds Collection Ltd. (TBC LTD) flat-back wood-carved shelf sitters. Crafted during the peak of the 1990s American folk art boom, this trio features striking black-and-white tuxedo painted finishes, expressive green almond eyes, and stylized chiseled textures reminiscent of classic folk artists like James Haddon and J. Dudley.
Because of their unique flat-back design, these figurines are deliberately slender (approximately 1/2" to 1" deep), allowing them to sit perfectly flush against walls on narrow mantels, windowsills, or shelves.
Each cat has its own distinctive pose:
• The Tail-Up Cat: A stylized upright cat with its tail beautifully arched over its back.
• The Reclining Cat: A cozy lounging cat with its tail curled along its side.
• The Seated Cat: An upright, attentive cat.
