Up for sale is an original antique "Fidelity Trust Vault" cast iron combination safe coin bank, manufactured by the J. Barton Smith Co. (circa 1890s). This ornate architectural bank features detailed Victorian scrollwork, filigree lattice openwork sides, and dual teller windows:
Paying Teller Window: Features a raised relief portrait of a bulldog sitting inside the teller booth.
Counting Room Window: Features a raised relief portrait of a Victorian woman.
Vault Door & Combination: Features a top combination door with a brass rotating dial mechanism.
Condition & Structural Notes (Please Read Before Buying):
This item is being sold AS-IS for parts, repair, or a restoration project. Please review all photos closely:
Structural Damage: There is a distinct fracture/crack along the lower right corner post and outer base frame (shown in close-up photos).
Markings: There is faint handwritten lettering ("Frank") on one of the corner posts.
Finish & Wear: Shows age-appropriate paint wear, surface patina, and minor seam separation.
Despite the corner crack, this is a heavy, highly collectible 19th-century bank piece that makes an excellent display or restoration candidate!
