This premium, investment-grade heirloom chess set is 100% COMPLETE with all 32 intricately sculpted pieces, its original pewter-finish inlaid chessboard casing, and its interior protective velvet storage tray!
Each piece is a highly detailed, historically accurate portrait sculpture cast in solid fine pewter by Franklin Mint artists. The figures stand on solid brass pedestal bases hand-enameled with distinctive coloring: Union Blue for the North and Confederate Gray/Off-White for the South.The case measures 12.5" x12.5" x 2". Each square is 1".
Key Historical Figures Featured Include:- Union Side (Blue Bases): Ulysses S. Grant (King), Abraham Lincoln, General Sherman, and General Custer. Pawns represent the Union's famed Iron Brigade.- Confederate Side (Gray/White Bases): Robert E. Lee (King), Jefferson Davis, General Stuart, and General Wheeler. Pawns represent the historic Stonewall Brigade.

Condition Notes:This exquisite set is pre-owned and has been beautifully preserved. Every single fine pewter figure is in immaculate condition—no broken weapons, missing parts, or bent structural details. The enameled pedestal bands are bright and clean. The hand-worked chessboard tiles are completely smooth with wonderful color. The dark wood framing on the exterior case and tray is sturdy, showing only very light, expected vintage surface shelf wear from storage but no deep gouges or split corners.
