VTG 1940s Sewing Pattern Lot 6 Simplicity DuBarry Dress Suit Bust 36 38 Size 18 For Sale

A lovely lot of six original 1940s sewing patterns from the WWII and immediate postwar years, all in the generous bust 36 to 38 range that is so hard to find in patterns from this era. Included are Simplicity 3471, a belted shirtwaist dress with long or short sleeves in bust 38 hip 41, with the copyright line appearing to read 1940; Simplicity 3935, a tailored suit jacket with flared skirt and yoked blouse in size 18 bust 36; Simplicity 4102, a day dress with sweetheart or square neckline, heart buttons, patch pockets and scalloped hem in size 18 bust 35; Simplicity 4718, a button front dress with ruffled cap sleeves and ruffle trimmed pockets plus a long housecoat, size 18 bust 36; Simplicity 1609, a printed pattern dress with scalloped neckline, sleeve and embroidery options in bust 38 hip 41, likely mid-1940s; and DuBarry 6031, a button front dress with ruffle or lace edging and patch pocket in size 18 bust 36.

Dates other than 3471 are approximate, based on pattern numbering and style. All patterns are cut and have not been counted, so they are sold as found; the tissue pieces are the perforated, unprinted style typical of the period except for 1609, which is printed, and instruction sheets are present. Envelopes show honest age with creasing, edge wear and small tears, and 4718 has water staining on the front, so please see the photos for condition. The envelope art alone is wonderful for framing or display, and the patterns themselves are a great resource for sewists recreating authentic 1940s silhouettes. Ships flat and protected.
