VTG 1939 FORD MERCURY V8 MECH. PENCIL ARLINGTON MOTOR CO WI BELL FORD 49R2 For Sale

Remarkably preserved, investment-grade 1939–1940 Pearlescent Celluloid Mechanical Pencil from the Arlington Motor Co. in Arlington, Wisconsin (later known as Bell Ford). This incredible piece of automotive history features flawless graphics capturing the exact launch of the Mercury brand. 5 3/8" long It features the Ford Oval, the Ford V8 logo, and the original forward-slanting Mercury text script alongside the historic vintage phone number: 49R2. It still has it's original eraser and eraser cap. Bell Motors partnered with Ford in 1931 and is famous in regional lore. In 1934, the notorious gangster "Baby Face" Nelson crashed his getaway car near Arlington and paid this exact dealership in cash for a quick fender repair while on the run from the FBI.
