Set of 2 VINTAGE 1930s NUART BRONZED METAL BOOKENDS \"THE BOOKWORM\" ELBERT HUBBARD sculptural bronzed cast-metal bookends in the image of prominent American writer Elbert Hubbard who tragically passed away during the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915.
The depiction is of the writer sitting cross-legged on a stack of books while reading a large folio.
Produced in the 1930s by Nuart Creations in New York City (a well-known maker of decorative cast metal wares)
The 1931 \"Bookworm\" bookends of Elbert Hubbard were sculpted by the American artist Walter K. Harrison Jr.
Style: Art Deco w/a nod to the Arts & Crafts Movement.
