VINTAGE VERNONWARE Raffia Chop Plate 12.25\" Round Vernon Kilns California MCM For Sale

Up for sale is a gorgeous, authentic vintage Vernonware \"Raffia\" 12.25-inch round chop plate (serving platter) produced by Vernon Kilns in California during the mid-1950s. This iconic piece features the highly collectible mid-century modern hand-painted green and rust-brown brushstroke/cross-hatch plaid pattern on a warm cream background.

The front of the platter is in excellent vintage condition with vibrant colors and minimal signs of wear. The underside features the original, clear Vernonware scroll backstamp: \"Under Glaze Hand Painted - RAFFIA - Vernonware - California U.S.A.\"

Condition Note: Structurally sound with no front-facing chips, cracks, or heavy crazing. The underside exhibits a couple of minor factory glaze pops/pitted pinholes in the center ring and a small glaze skip/shallow imperfection along the back edge of the rim (please see the close-up photos for exact details). These are typical of mid-century pottery production and do not detract from its display or use.

Perfect addition to a mid-century modern kitchen, a Vernon Kilns collector, or as a standalone statement serving piece!
