• FIGURE: Uncle Sam

• COLOR: Light sea-green / aqua glass

• HEIGHT: 15 inches- 16” with adapter

• WIDTH: 4” at widest

• ORIGIN: Made in Spain

Manufactured by Sweet Antiques Glass Ltd. (SAG) based out of Montpelier, Vermont, in 1995 curated these vintage-style glass items and packaged them as complete "Romantic Moods" kits.

Uncle Sam glass bottle was converted into an oil lamp using a conversion kit.

Companies like this specialized in repurposing vintage or imported glass bottles into decorative home decor by bundling them with a simple brass ball

& oil wick adapter.

INSTRUCTION BREAKDOWN:

If you intend to use the bottle as a functional oil lamp, the label lists these key steps:

1. The Adapter: A small brass ball adapter sits directly inside the lip of the bottle's neck to hold the wick.

2. Fuel Type: Use only pure, smokeless lamp oil (never use flammable fuels like gasoline, kerosene, or standard cooking oils).

3. Filling: Fill the bottle with oil up to the neck, being careful not to overfill.

4. Wick Height: Pull the wick up so that only a tiny amount (about 1/8 inch max) is exposed above the brass ball.

5. Soaking: Let the wick sit and soak up the oil for at least five minutes before lighting it for the first time.

⚠️ SAFETY REMINDER: The brass ball component will get extremely hot once the flame is lit, so avoid touching it until it has completely cooled down.
