The KAWECO AURUMIA 84 safety pen is a very rare fountain pen, produced during an historic transition periodfor the acclaimed German manufacturer.
In 1929 the original, Heidelberg based Kaweco company went bankrupt with the the Kaweco name, factory, patents and parts being acquired by KNUST, WORINGEN & GRUBE, ( KWG ) a smaller pen company, based in WIESLOCH , which produced the AURUMIA brand
Following the acquisition, the new owners merged the product lines, consolidating the designs and giving birth to the famous three part, circular KA WE CO logo
Pens, from this transition period, as this rare example, often featured hybrid KAWECO / AURUMIA identification imprints and 14k gold, early hybrid nibs
