VINTAGE CAPTAIN of KOPENICK Posable FigureGERMAN 7 1/2" MILITARY OFFICER DOLL
A vintage doll, figure, or souvenir from Germany of the "Captain of Köpenick". His name was Wilhelm Voigt, and he was honored as a folk hero in Germany when he posed as a Prussian Captain. He has a stockinette face with furry hair and mustache. His uniform is navy blue felt with gold buttons,epaulettes, and belt. He wears black pants with a red stripe and wood shoes. This doll measures approximately 7 1/2" tall (to the top of his hat) and is in good condition. There are no holes or tears to the material. There is minor soiling, here and there, and the epaulette on his left shoulder has one of the buttons missing and some of the stitching...see photo. He may be missing a sword on his left side where a loop was stitched. Everything else looks good. His arms and legs are posable. This is a very nice souvenir of Germany's folk hero the "Captain of Köpenick" to add to any collection.
