VINTAGE1959 HOLT HOWARD MY FAIR LADY CHRISTMASHOLLY HEAD VASE
Up foryour consideration today is a vintage 1959 Holt Howard My Fair Lady Christmas HollyHead Vase in original, excellent condition.She measures approximately 4 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide. She still retains her original necklace andearrings. All of her paint is stillintact. There are no chips, cracks orrepairs to this item that I could detect.The bottom has some discoloration after nearly 70 years because it wasnever factory glazed. Any flaws ordefects are factory flaws, such as rough spots, tiny areas of missed glazingand things of that nature. It retainsthe original JAPAN HOLT HOWARD sticker on the bottom as well as the printedcopyright symbol and date of 1959. Theseitems were cheaply produced for quick dime store sales, and were not intendedto last long, so most of them did not survive.Because they were cheaply produced, they are not perfect and willcontain minor factory flaws or defects as stated earlier. In addition, many of the items from the 1950swere cold painted for quick production and were meant only to be dusted off,but many people washed them in dish detergent, thereby washing away thepaint. So, if you love these types ofitems and collect them, please remember to never wash them like dishes. All they need is dusting, and spot cleaningwith a slightly damp cloth. Otherwiseyou will ruin the finish if they were cold painted.
