VINTAGE 1945 DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK 12\" PORCELAIN SIGN SMOKEY BIGFOOT For Sale

Smokey and Bigfoot tipping ashes into a bin under a desert ramada, with the Panamints behind and cracked salt flat below. The earliest date in this group at 1945, and the desert palette makes it the odd one out in a set otherwise full of pine trees - which is exactly why set builders want it.

Marked on the face: \"Death Valley National Park\", \"Smokey & Bigfoot say\", \"USE THE ASHTRAY - LEAVE NO EMBER\", \"ASHES\" on the bin, and \"Made in U.S.A.\", the year, and \"U.S. Department of Agriculture and State of California\" around the lower rim.

Size: approximately 12\" in diameter (305 mm), measured by the seller.

Judge the condition from the photographs - the sign is shown from every angle, including the reverse and the mounting holes, and nothing is cropped out. On porcelain of this age, fine specking in the enamel, small chips at the edges and wear around the mounting holes are normal and are not faults. After decades of age and storage a sign may also sit slightly warped or a little bent rather than perfectly flat - it still hangs and displays fine, and you will not notice it once it is on a wall. This one is not cracked and has not been restored, repainted or touched up. Want a close-up of a particular area, or an exact measurement, before you buy?
