VINTAGE 1938 ALBUQUERQUE NEW MEXICO PENNANT 12\" ROUTE 66 SOUVENIR SILVERSMITH For Sale

Early Route 66 souvenir. Dated 1938. Shows a silversmith at work in the artwork.
It is Faded and shows some stains. Still a cool OLDIE!
I have collected thousands of pennants and any of these that are from the western states of N.M. or Arizona, especially with the Indian Chief in the artwork make me think of the great old Route 66 days - picture dad in the front seat, white shirt and tie and hat, mom in a neat dress and red lipstick, windows down...dad pulls over at a stand alone 50\'s gas station...of course there is some Grab....they all have one - a box of rattlesnakes - Giant Rabbits - a \"real\" Teepee to explore - most everything is only a quarter, but me and sis know not to ask. Dad is hot and he does surprisingly splurge for us each a bottle of ice cold pop - the rusty can opener peels off the cap to reveal the cork underside - and nothing can ever taste as good as that first gulp slightly burning the throat as it goes down - we hop back in the back seat and settle in...no need to buckle as we never did...dad comes out with something in his hand that is colorful, but we can\'t tell what it is..he pauses for a couple of minutes by the NO SMOKING sign and lights his cigarette, takes a few puffs, tosses it aside...strolls back to the car and chucks two pennants in the window....stunned, we are, with mouths open, mom smiles at dad as he climbs in...\"I think we can make Albuquerque by dark\" is all that is said, and we drive on...leaving only the dust trail behind us...
I ship felt pennants in a bubble envelope. Smaller ones are shipped flat. Longer ones with one or two folds - lightly folded with tissue paper placed at the point of the fold.
