A historically captivating piece of European resort history, this authentic 1937 Karlsbad porcelain spa cup (Lázeňský pohárek) is beautifully preserved. Karlsbad (now Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) was the premier luxury spa destination of Europe, famous for its therapeutic thermal springs.
This cleverly engineered cup features a completely flat, pocket-friendly silhouette decorated with elegant gold-gilded striping and tiny graphic medallions. The stylized handle functions as a hollow straw, allowing spa-goers to sip thermal mineral waters safely away from their teeth. The interior rim is clearly stamped with the specific prescribed volume metric: "210 Gr".
A wonderful addition to collections of medical history, rare barware, or pre-war European porcelain.
Condition:
Excellent antique condition! The gold gilding is bright and intact across the body, handle, and inner text with only minor, expected age-related shelf wear. The porcelain is crisp and white with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
