We are offering a lovely Easter Greeting Card by S. Hildesheimer & Co., Limited. Circa late 1800s/early 1900s. From what we have read, the company published chromolithographs, olegraphs, Christmas and other greeting cards, and manufactured gilt mouldings. The card is mounted on a 6 3/4" x 9" blue mount which was then mounted on a larger cream-colored 9 3/4" x 12" mount. The mount has a stand in the back for displaying the card on a table, etc.
The words "Easter Greeting", written on the satin ribbon are made of moulded gilt lettering, we believe. The sprigs of delicate leaves, which appear to be hand-painted, begin on the large mount and continue through onto the small mount. The card reads, "Lead, Kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom, Lead Thou me on". (See images)
