VERY RARE Antique Flow Blue Butter Pat - Plymouth by New Wharf Pottery 1891-1894:
$49.00

From the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch farming communities nestled among the rolling hills of Lancaster County Pennsylvania
Offered for sale:A very rare Antique Flow Blue Butter Pat Plate in the Plymouth pattern made by New Wharf pottery.I searched everywhere I could think of to find another butter pat for sale in this pattern from this maker, but could find none. For this reason, I believe it is truly quite rare.It is a beautiful Victorian floral design in blue on a white background with scrolls embossed on the edge of the plate. It is approximately 3 inches in diameter.New Wharf Pottery was a notable earthenware manufacturer located in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, the historic heart of the English ceramics industry.Operating primarily from 1878 to 1894 by the Wood brothers, the factory specialized in semi-porcelain and high-quality transferware, particularly the highly collectible "Flow Blue" style. The presence of the word "England" stamped on the back is an important historical dating marker.Due to the McKinley Tariff Act, pieces marked with "New Wharf Pottery, England" can be dated precisely to between 1891 and 1894.This elegant butter pat would be an uncommon addition to any collection. In extraordinary condition for its age!It has no chips, cracks, or repairs. It does have assorted marks from the original firing process and small manufacturing glaze flaws that were typical during these years. It also has the characteristic crazing in the glaze common to antique pieces. Please review all the photographs carefully, as they really are the best description, to determine if this beautiful butter pat meets the criteria to join your collection. If you have questions, please send me a message through and I will reply as quickly as I ship the next business day after notification of payment from a smoke-free and pet-free home in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.Always happy to combine shipping where items can be mailed together you for considering my listing :)
