The extreme length of this hoop-style blade is 6", which tells me anything longer than 6" pin-to-pin will be too long for proper tension for this type of saw design. I would not say that hoop blades are a must. Rather, more importantly would be the pin center dimension.****Condition:There was quite a bit of rust on the saw beam and the T-fitting. I've since cleaned, polished and waxed it along with prepping and applying a few clear coats of satin finish to the black stained handle. The threads are in good dependable condition. The blade is not as sharp as it once was. The ferrule is pinned and it is tight.Sorry I don't know more about the saw.
