USS Texas in World War II — Original WWII-Era Naval History Book
A fascinating piece of original American WWII-era naval history documenting the USS Texas (BB-35), one of the most historically significant American battleships of the 20th century.
This is a particularly interesting book for collectors because it dates from the period when the USS Texas was still an active U.S. Navy warship. Rather than being a later retrospective history, this is a period publication from the WWII era, offering a contemporary look at the ship and its wartime service.
The USS Texas had an extraordinary career. After serving in World War I, the battleship returned to combat during World War II and participated in major Allied operations, including the North Africa campaign, D-Day at Normandy, the invasion of Southern France, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. The ship's long service history has made USS Texas a particularly interesting subject for naval-history and military collectors.
This book would make an excellent addition to a collection of:
• WWII memorabilia and ephemera
• U.S. Navy history
• Battleship and naval-history books
• USS Texas / BB-35 memorabilia
• American military history
• WWII-era publications and primary-source material
• Naval modeling and battleship research collections
Condition: Please examine all photographs carefully for the condition of the book. There is a vulnerable/sensitive area at the top of the inside of the spine. This is specifically noted so the buyer is aware of it before purchase. The book is being offered as a period historical collectible, and its age and vintage character should be taken into consideration.
A great opportunity to own an original WWII-era publication relating to one of America's most famous battleships.
