Vintage original photograph showing three U.S. Navy sailors posing in a studio setting while wearing novelty hats. The men are dressed in naval uniforms and appear to be holding cigarette holders as props in a humorous posed portrait. The backdrop includes draped curtains and a small table with flowers.
Handwritten on the reverse reads:
“1938 – Hawaii – USS Tennessee.”
Likely taken while the ship was stationed in Hawaii prior to World War II. Informal photographs like this were often made during shore leave or at local portrait studios catering to visiting servicemen.
