Rare Winchester Post WWI commercial contract bayonet with a WWI Scabbard. Overall excellent condition blade with some light handling wear, blade edge is unsharpened Two toned blade with blued ricasso and a gray patina, single \"W\" stamp on the ricasso inside a circle. With no other markings. Excellent grips, excellent working press-stud,When Police Depts (or Prison Guards) purchased the Model 1897/1912 commercial trench guns from Winchester in the 1920\'s and 1930\'s, Winchester supplied the commercial bayonets. However, the government frequently sold leftover wartime surplus scabbards like this one that is paired with the bayonet.This olive green leather scabbard is from WWI and is stamped JEWELL 1917 on the belt leather attachment. The leather is also stamped with the \"J\" inside a diamond, along with the inspector stamps on it. The leather is still supple and uncracked only showing some light handling wear, use. Both the Chape and Locket are stamped with the \"MS\" stamp.
