ULTRA RARE Vtg 1982 Lady & Peter GALATAS WILDFOWL Duck CARVING & LWCCG Award LA For Sale

This ultra rare and exquisitely detailed piece comes from an amazing estate collection out of Shoal Creek, Alabama. It was hand carved and painted by Lady and Peter Galatas for the 1982 Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers & Collectors Guild Gulf-South Championship. It is signed and dated on the bottom of the base. The carvings are mounted on a wooden oval shaped base that measures approximately 10 3/4\" long and 9 3/4\" wide. This carving won Second Place in the Wildfowl Carvings Miniature Division. The award ribbon is included with the piece. The first place winner is in the Louisiana State Museum! The male duck measures approximately 6.5\" long and the female duck measures approximately 5.25\" long. The entire piece is approximately 5.5\" tall. It is in good condition with the exception of there being a small chip to the underside of one of the female duck\'s feathers and a small repair in the same spot.
