U.S. G.I. Extraction Parachute, Used. For Sale

At 22 feet in diameter, this U.S. extraction parachute is a powerhouse of airborne logistics. Built from modern, high-strength parachute nylon, it was designed not to carry people but to pull thousands of pounds of cargo out of an aircraft in mid-flight. Deployed first, it catches the slipstream and yanks vehicles, supply pallets, or heavy equipment into freefall where larger cargo canopies then take over. Its compact packed size hides its immense scale and strength, while the reinforced webbing and precise stitching reflect rugged, professional-grade construction. Beyond its original mission, the large canopy and tough fabric make it suitable for many practical uses such as providing shade for equipment or livestock, acting as a windbreak for a field or garden, or serving as a durable tarp for protecting your guests at your next outdoor event. With a little creativity, it can be both a striking conversation piece and a hardworking tool around the homestead. In nice used condition. Sold for novelty purposes only and not intended for use as a personnel or cargo chute. May contain small holes. Genuine U.S. Government Surplus. Made in the USA.

Expert Tips: Store loosely in a breathable cotton bag to prevent moisture buildup and fabric degradation. For display, partially deploy to reveal the canopy’s dramatic span without stressing the material. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the OD color and fabric integrity.
