WORKING Vintage Thorens Swiss Mechanical Wind-Up Music Box with Rare Cameo Portrait
Overall, good condition, with some wear consisitent with age. NOTE: The front on/off switch does work, but if you switch it off, it does not actually stop until the end of the song. Please review the pictures well and carefully.
Vintage Thorens mechanical wind-up music box, crafted in Switzerland during the mid-20th century. The box is made of polished hardwood and features a distinctive curved lower front apron.
The most notable feature is the brass-framed decorative cameo portrait set into the lid. This is a particularly uncommon detail on Thorens music boxes and gives this piece a distinctive appearance.
The music box is working and plays when wound. The silver pull-button on the front serves as the brake mechanism to start and stop the musical playback.
