Original 2017 Kickstarter Edition • Six Decks • Handmade Wooden Case
Offered here is the extraordinary 500-piece wooden poker set produced by Wyrmwood Gaming for Elodin Enterprises’ 2017 The Name of the Wind Art Deck Kickstarter, based on Patrick Rothfuss’s The Kingkiller Chronicle and featuring playing-card artwork by Echo Chernik.
This was the full 500-chip boxed configuration, the largest of the wooden poker-chip sets created for the campaign, housed in a fitted hardwood presentation case with dedicated storage for six decks of cards. Campaign-era material described the poker sets as handmade by Wyrmwood Gaming and offered in configurations ranging from 100 chips in a linen bag through this full 500-chip presentation set.
The Kickstarter itself became a major success, ultimately attracting 10,090 backers and $630,300 in pledges.
THE 500 WOODEN POKER CHIPS
The centerpiece is the complete 500-chip Wyrmwood Gaming wooden poker set.
Rather than conventional clay or plastic construction, these chips were made from contrasting hardwoods, using the natural color and grain of the wood to create their patterns and denominations.
Campaign materials and contemporary descriptions identify premium woods used for the project including:
Rock Maple
Black Walnut
Purpleheart
Pink Ivory
African Blackwood
The chips are visually striking in person, with each denomination created from contrasting woods rather than printed casino-style graphics.
The poker chips have never been used for play. They have remained stored in their fitted Wyrmwood case and have only been removed from the case for photography.
SIX NAME OF THE WIND PLAYING-CARD DECKS
The fitted center compartment contains the complete six-deck card configuration associated with this set.
The card project was created around Echo Chernik’s original illustrations of characters from The Name of the Wind, developed in collaboration with Patrick Rothfuss. The campaign included both Selas and Kickstarter-exclusive Chandrian designs, with standard and alternate artwork.
Condition of the decks:
One Chandrian deck has been opened.
One Selas deck has been opened.
The cards from those two opened decks were only very lightly handled and have never been used for play.
The remaining decks are still sealed/unopened as shown in the photographs.

WYRMWOOD HARDWOOD PRESENTATION CASE
The complete set is housed in its original large fitted Wyrmwood Gaming hardwood presentation case, purpose-built to hold all 500 chips together with six playing-card decks.
The case features substantial hardwood construction, fitted interior compartments and traditional joinery. Wyrmwood produced and fulfilled the poker-chip cases specifically for the Name of the Wind Kickstarter.
The case remains structurally excellent and presents beautifully.
Condition note: there is one area of light scratching/storage wear on the back of the wooden case, clearly shown in the photographs. The marks are cosmetic and do not affect the integrity, operation or interior of the case.

ABOUT THE ORIGINAL KICKSTARTER
The Name of the Wind Art Deck was created by Elodin Enterprises as a playing-card project featuring Echo Chernik’s illustrations of characters from Patrick Rothfuss’s The Name of the Wind.
As the Kickstarter grew, the project expanded well beyond the original decks. Among the additions were the handmade Wyrmwood Gaming poker-chip sets, culminating in this full 500-chip boxed configuration with storage for six decks.
The red Selas decks and darker Chandrian decks were designed as complementary collections, with standard and alternate cards and unique character artwork associated with the Kingkiller universe.
The result is less a conventional poker set than a substantial crossover collectible combining:
