Offered here is an extraordinary collector's edition celebrating the 40th Anniversary of one of the most influential independent comics ever published—Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1.
This edition faithfully reproduces the legendary 1984 First Printing using the original TMNT #1 production negatives for all 40 interior pages, together with scans of the interior covers taken directly from an authentic first printing. Every aspect of the project was undertaken with historical accuracy in mind, preserving the original dimensions (10 15/16" x 7 1/2"), layout, newsprint interiors, lightweight cover stock, and even the subtle printing characteristics that distinguish the original publication.
In keeping with the spirit of the original, the reproduction was manufactured using period-appropriate printing equipment whenever possible, including Goss Community Offset presses, traditional folding machinery, and bindery equipment. Production was completed entirely in Maine—the same state where the original 1984 first and second printings were produced.
What distinguishes this example from all others is its custom double-sided metal front and back covers, transforming one of comics' most iconic books into a premium display piece while preserving the complete interior reproduction.
This copy was personally signed and beautifully remarked by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman during Garden State Comic Fest (New Jersey) on June 27, 2026.
