Up for your consideration is a Vintage 1920s-1930s Takito T&T Lusterware Tea cup and Saucer set.
A LITTLE HISTORY:
The Japanese Takito company (1880-1948) was mostly known for specializing in Lusterware type of decoration originally developed by the Noritake company. Pieces marked "Nippon" were made between 1891-1921. Beginning in late summer of 1921 goods imported from Japan were marked "Japan" or "Made in Japan". Marks after 1945 usually are marked "Made in Occupied Japan"
FEATURES:
* The Takito Company's back-mark was black printed T&T in two rectangles, surrounded by the words "Hand Painted Made in Japan", dating it between 1920-1930 when this type of ware was 'the vogue'.
* Hand-painted with both color shades: blue-luster and peach-luster separated by a black line
* Most of the blue and peach luster-ware I have seen on has the peach color on top. These cup and saucer sets have the blue-luster on top and the peach-luster on the bottom
* Interior glistens beautifully with pearl iridescence
* These delicate cups and saucers match the Lusterware salad plates listed on my site which was also made by Takito
* 6 cup & saucer sets are available. Order more and have a tea party!
